ff in sg

the scottish lads are coming to town. i need a buddy to go to the franz ferdinand concert with me on the 16th of february 2006. they will be rocking the singapore indoor stadium. but then, i haven't really asked my parents just yet.

the bottomline is, "I HAVE GOT TO SEE FRANZ FERDINAND LIVE IN SINGAPORE". there i said it.

countdown.

it's 3 days before the start of school. 7 days to ayin's wedding. 15 days to my pay cheque. i can't wait for the latter.

the family stone is a must watch. i so love the movie. rachel mcadams portrayed her character amy really well. and luke wilson's so cute. urgh. it's almost like love actually only that the story is really fast. love it.

lotsa

today is my last day at work at the post office. it's gonna be sad not to see the girls (sariha, farhanum, adibah and rodhiah) again after this day. i had lots of fun and a great time with these people. it's been a great pleasure and a wonderful experience working there. sigh. and i'm really gonna miss my eyecandy. a certain mr h.

yesterday, i accompanied hanissa to rgs for her secondary 1 orientation along with her parents, her younger sister and brother and my mother. and boy, the school is fantastic. i mean the facilities available for the students are aplenty. and all the classrooms are air-conditioned. that is just plain wicked. i'm so happy for her. being in rgs means an automatic place in rjc. and that's like wowee.

talking about education, sariha asked me a very good question the other day. what would i do if, i repeat IF, i were to fail my A levels. at the rate i'm at now, i don't think i'll even make through my summer tests. i'm such a lazy bum. i hate studying. it's killing me. if fate decides that i do fail my As, i would either retake the papers and waste another year or join NIE and become a teacher. that's like super eww. i do not want to be an education officer. and neither do i wanna retake. i don't want to flunk my As but then again, i'm not ready to start opening my books just yet. crap.

hanissa made it to raffles girls' school. that is just the best thing. i'm so proud.

i came back from work today to hear that my eldest maternal uncle had passed away this afternoon. allahyarham ami ain died of heart attack on the way to the hospital. this is a tragedy that i don't even know how to react to. my maternal side of the family has just seen 4 of its members passing on in the space of less than six months. i feel so screwed.

from widya

widya tagged me. so i guess it's my turn to continue the chain.

Rules of the game:
1. Post 5 weird/random things about yourself.
2. At the end of this quiz, list 5 names of friends you want next to do this and leave a comment you are tagged in the tagboard and tell them to read your blog!

ONE i talk to myself when no one's looking. yes. even in public.
TWO i have a thing for men/boys with pretty goatees. (see video of the moment)
THREE i don't do skirts. the only skirts in my cupboard are the ijc uniform and the one for tennis.
FOUR i hate hot stuff. so please do not pass me the chilli sauce.
FIVE i dream of the day i'll be known as nadia nadal.

i'll be tagging serina, sharini, mimi, sarah and geraldine.

end of reality tv

woot. danni is the sole survivor of guatemala. just the outcome i was so badly expecting after a havoc of a season. she totally deserves it man. and i must say, smart move there by taking steph with her to the final 2 instead of rafe for a better shot at the prize money. hooray. danni won and i'm delirious.

the wonderful 7-ppl jury with the gorgeous bobby jon in the orange top.

the weavers came in 3rd in the final leg of the amazing race family edition. it's a dissapointing result considering the fact that they were leading for the 1st half of the leg. but still, they manage a third place finish overall.

reality tv

the amazing race 8 and survivor guatemala are coming to an end this coming week. thankfully, my favourite contestants are still in the running for the million dineros. the final four in survivor are stephenie, rafe, danni and lydia. i'm hoping for either a rafe or danni victory. that would be great man. unfortunately, i can't watch the last episode on monday. all due to my job and the shopping trip with the tennis people. bah hambug. i so totally wanna watch. it's the season finale okay?!

from left: rafe, danni, steph and lydia.

the weavers are my favourite team to win the amazing race. however, i don't think that's quite possible. the evil linz family is the strongest left. but i still want weavers to win. i don't care if people hate them so much. i like rolly. hehehe.

go rolly.

shoes

last sunday, i managed to squeeze in 2hrs with my super busy mom to look for shoes for work. i discovered that i severely lack them. slippers and sandals i have plenty. but shoes, i think i have around 5 pairs including the ones i wear to school.

so we went to junction 8 cause i so totally love this pair of fila mary janes which i saw some time ago. and so, purchased it at $29.90, with my mom's dineros of course. we walked more cause i pointed to her this pair of loafers this girl was wearing on the mrt. and she was like okay. one more and that's it for the rest of the month. then i remembered that shuchen and i saw this cool shop at the edge at parco bugis junction which sells those shoes. so, i somehow managed to convince my mom to go to bugis after that.

at bugis, we went deep down to find the shop. my mom was frustrated cause she has been out all day and her legs were killing her. i just had to made do by sucking up to her. in the end, the tiny shop was found. the white plain loafers were not pretty after all. then my eyes roamed to the brown vans pair and it (my eyes, not the shoes you dumbo) lighted up. when i told my mom about the price ($80+), she stared at me and looked almost as if she would swallow the entire gigantic me into her petite self.

in the end, i settled for a pair of mickey loafers at m:industries for less than half the price. definitely worth it man.

job

i've got a job. a funny one indeed. i work as a postal woman. no. not the one who mails the letters into your letterbox. my task is too sort out mail accordingly, like cards separated from normal letters and according to the stamps and all. super taxing on the legs. 4 hours of standing with a 20 minute break in between. bloody pain sia. no more mary janes. sheesh. anywho, it's not that bad entirely. the aunties are really nice. and i've got an eyecandy to for me to wash my eyes with. whoopie. damn cute man that guy. oh yes. my cousin's in the same job as well. not the twin one i mentioned before. zahid, another cousin.

so start lauging people. i'm a postal woman. i know what's in your mail. haha.
well, not really.
